WeirdGear are an affable trio from Essex (LOS/BIC/ROM) who use classic analogue synthesisers, effects pedals and drum machines....
WeirdGear perform completely live - with no backing trax, MIDI or sequencers.... though we are now using computers to record and produce our material; conscious of being as live as possible with our output.
WeirdGear now can also be heard on Thames Delta Radio Station; Ship Full of Bombs SFOB.co.uk (on fb and twitter too). The show can be heard the 2nd Sunday in every month from 8-10pm and is a smorgasboard of music, chat, laughter and often 'Themes'. Check out the show archive on the SFOB podcast page.
WeirdGear have just finished writing, recording, mixing and producing their upcoming 3rd album; Cosmonautes Discotheque - Released on Monday 4th November 2013.
5th August 2013 brought the release of the 3rd and final EP from the album; called Points. It has some great remixes.
25th February 2013 we released of a second EP from the album; called Daytona87. It was released with some great remixes.
26th November 2012 we released our first EP; Black7 which is available from all those download stores we love to shop in. It is available with 4 remixes by some good chums of the band.
Our debut album Aurora - was released on 27th February 2012 and is available via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and CD Baby to name a few.... Check most reputable download sites.
AURORA features the rather talented Dave Panter who was a member of WeirdGear until his sad retirement from band activities in 2009. This material is the tracks that were written and gigged by the band from 2006-2009.
There is also a companion FREE album called 'Aurora Bonus' which contains some other material which is completely improvised and live recorded during our studio rehearsals as a quartet. This is available to anyone who asks us nicely.
